At 2:36 in the morning on January 29, 2015, after a 24-hour return operation, a steel dragon with a pipe diameter of 610 mm and a total length of 3,500 meters broke out from the north bank of the Yangtze River in Haimen. The China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau Crossing Company successfully completed the Rudong-Haimen-Chongming Island gas pipeline crossing the Yangtze River by using directional drilling technology, creating a new world record for pipeline crossing. This is also the second phase of the company’s Jiangdu-Rudong The world record was set for the fourth time in pipeline engineering.
